Campaign Priority: Facilities
Goal: $35 million
Penn Engineering will continue to expand and modernize campus facilities to anticipate the future needs of our forward-thinking students and faculty. Modern facilities cultivate first-rate learning and research and also attract exceptional faculty who are experts in their fields.
Instruction in engineering requires adaptable and technologically advanced laboratories to accommodate cross-disciplinary research — and active learning classrooms to support interactive learning and hybrid teaching methods. Large student-focused spaces, appropriate for collaboration and quiet study, are also growing in demand.
Penn Engineering is renovating labs all across its historic campus. The School is also exploring opportunities to collaborate with other schools on building projects and continues to evaluate proposals for constructing a new technology building that includes even more state-of-the-art laboratories. The following gift opportunities are payable over five years.
Opportunities and Gift Levels
- New Laboratory: A gift of $1,000,000 would name and support the construction of a new laboratory facility on campus. Laboratories will be outfitted with cutting-edge equipment and instrumentation and foster the cross-fertilization of ideas, information, and discovery. Donor recognition signage would be placed at the entrance of the space.
- Renovated Named Laboratory: A gift of $500,000 would name and support renovations to an existing laboratory on campus. The gift would support building repairs, modifications to infrastructure, and offset the costs of new equipment. Donor recognition signage would be placed at the entrance of the space.
